Q. Who Conducts the CCB?

Q. How many members are there?
A. Currently there are over 75 active members playing in the CCB.

Q. Where does the CCB rehearse?
A. Dana Auditorium in the E. H. Little Fine Arts Building at Queens University (1900 Selwyn Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28274).

Q. When are rehearsals?
A. Tuesday nights from 7:30p-9:30p.

Q. How long is your season?
A. Our season typically runs from mid-August to mid-May.

Q. What is the status of the CCB?
A. 501(c)(3) non profit organization.

Q. How does the CCB get funding?
A. Individual donations, Grants, Honorariums, Sponsorship, Gifts.

Q. What are the attendance requirements?
A. There is an expectation that players will attend all rehearsals prior to a concert so that we prepare a performance that's as near perfect and musically satisfying to our audience as possible. Family and work situations may necessitate an occasional absence, but it is assumed that anyone who chooses to be a part of the CCB will make every effort to support our goal of "outstanding performances of classic concert band repertoire."

Q. Will I have to audition?
A. An audition is required to determine appropriate placement within the band and to determine performance level for solo assignments. 

Q. How is seating within sections determined?
A. Seating is determined by the Conductor through your audition.  We are a cordial and cooperative ensemble, not a band of prima donnas. The conductor expects the section to work out part rotation and coverage.

Q. Are there membership dues?
A. Unlike many community bands, the CCB does not have membership dues. 

Q. Do I have to bring a music stand?
A. No, music stands are provided for regular rehearsals and concerts.

Q: Do I need my own instrument to participate?
A: Yes.  Other than large percussion instruments, the CCB does not provide instruments.
