Celebrate America's 250th anniversary with the Charlotte Concert Band at Let Freedom Ring: America at 250 — a stirring tribute to the nation's rich musical heritage.

This special performance features our annual Musician for a Lifetime Program, showcasing top middle school musicians from North Carolina's South Central District All-District Band.

Honoring Drew Carter

Charlotte Concert Band Music Director & Principal Conductor, 2012–2026
Drew Carter has served as Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Charlotte Concert Band since 2012, making him the longest-serving director in the ensemble's history. During this time, he has provided steady musical leadership while guiding the ensemble through significant moments, including milestone anniversary seasons.

As he concludes his tenure with the Charlotte Concert Band, we gratefully recognize his lasting impact on the ensemble and on music education throughout our region.
