There is no application fee to enter the competition.
Applicants must submit an electronic application and submit one letter of recommendation from a private lesson teacher or school music director.
Letters of recommendation should be emailed to charlotteconcertband@gmail.com.
CCB Board Members and the CCB Director will review the applications according to the timeline below and will choose those who are eligible to audition.
Those selected to audition must prepare about three minutes of the concerto for a panel of highly-qualified judges. If desired, the student may provide his or her own piano accompanist, though this is not necessary. Students should provide three scores of the concerto for the panel of judges.
The selected repertoire must have an in-print wind band transcription. A suggested, though not exhaustive, list can be found by clicking here.
The winner(s) of the competition must be available to rehearse with CCB on the Tuesday evenings listed above.
