joining the charlotte concert band
We are excited to hear from musicians interested in joining our ensembles. The Charlotte Concert Band is similar to a university symphonic band, featuring many outstanding players, including some professionals, but primarily dedicated amateurs who enjoy performing and make valuable contributions within their sections. You can find recordings of some of our performances on our YouTube page.
While our ensemble is currently at capacity (unless indicated otherwise), vacancies in various sections do arise from time to time. We welcome performers with above-average playing skills, particularly those with strong sight-reading ability, to get in touch. Feel free to submit the form below, and we'll be sure to contact you if a spot becomes available in your desired section. Any submissions will be kept on file for future consideration as our membership evolves. Depending on your musical background and experience, we may request an audio and/or video audition.
While we sometimes employ rolling membership, we ask for a season commitment from our current players in mid-July. At that point, we reach out to prospective members for sections with vacancies. To be considered active, members must attend a minimum of 2/3 of rehearsals and concerts and pay the yearly dues of $80.
