joining the charlotte concert band
Our Membership
Any performer who has above-average playing skills, especially sight reading ability, is eligible to audition for membership openings in the Charlotte Concert Band. The CCB is like a university symphonic band in that there are many outstanding players, some of whom play professionally, but mostly the ensemble is filled with dedicated amateurs who enjoy performing and make a great contribution within their sections. You can find recordings of some of our performances on YouTube page.
Auditions for the Charlotte Concert Band are encouraged throughout the year. We accept audio and video auditions in lieu of an in-person audition. After an audition, you may be selected either as a regular member or as a call player. Regular members are asked to attend all rehearsals prior to a concert so that we can prepare for a performance. Call players may be invited to sit in with the CCB when regular members are not available, or to become regular members as positions open within the band. We are eager to grow our call list for all instruments, so please don't hesitate to contact us even if there is not a current membership opening for your instrument.
